I will say without hesitation that this book was as good as the last one in the series. It had me from beginning to end. Plan to finish the series.
Hummings Hollow's reclusive millionaire is murdered. The clues are few and the alibies are plentiful for everyone except Angela's brother. Now that Angela is a licensed detective, she and Ruff can devote themselves to the case full-time. Well, except for helping her parents, caring for her animals, and now an injured squirrel. The story was fun to read. It has some drama, a hint at possible romance, and a good mystery. The animals add depth to the storyline. P. Nutty is a perfect name for a squirrel. I received an advance copy but my review is honest and voluntary.
There is no mention of any type of payment yet she has animals to feed, vet bills, and other expenses so book isn't realistic in that respect. Story line good but I had figured out killer early in the book.
A wealthy local tycoon named Reginald Dean is beaten to death on his estate. The new private investigator tries to stop her brother from being arrested for the crime. Angela's best friend works for her, and the squirrel she saved, P. Nutty, helps her figure out what happened to Dean. The chief suspect is the P.I.'s long-lost brother, William. His bad image from when he was 20 years old still follows him. The good news is that Angela's relationship with the police has given her a great image, which helps her a lot in life.Amanda Atkinson's life was consumed by Unfortunately, her mother's illness dampened her ability to fully enjoy the simple joys of life.Amanda Atkinson's life was consumed by the care of her beloved mother and the demanding responsibility of overseeing her animal rescue farm. the demanding responsibility of overseeing her animal rescue farm. Regrettably, the presence of her mother's illness cast a shadow over her capacity to wholeheartedly embrace life's simple pleasures. Her loyal border collie, Ruff McPaw, lies beside her and smells the different hairy, scaly, and feathery birds at her pet rescue farm. It made Ruff sit up when Angela laughed. "I guess I should start a private investigation business," she thought. Getting my license meant figuring out two murders with the help of the cops. Angela told Ruff about her new business, which made him pay attention. He stood by her all the time. Angela smiled at Ruff's happiness. "Looks like we have a new case on our hands, buddy," she said, stroking his head gently. They worked well together and could handle any problem. At the request of the Chief of Police, Atkinson pondered the various motives behind the killer's actions, and a captivating tale unfolded. Dean may have had lingering problems with theft, bad business, and the fact that rich people are often killed for money. I don't think so unless someone got it from him. A chance break-in might not have worked. Was something taken? Look at how P. Nutty, a squirrel who was saved, helps Angela. The plot gets more tense and emotional when Angela's long-lost brother is named as a suspect. Angela's good reputation from the past and Williams' bad reputation from the past affect her investigation into Dean's murder. This shows how a person's past can affect whether they are guilty or innocent.Max Parrott, who wrote Squirrel, Skip, Squabble, shows readers his lovely home and his loyal dog, Luffy, a golden retriever who makes Max's life more fun without going on any mystery adventures. The author skillfully weaves fictional and true events to create engaging pet stories. In his cozy murder stories, Parrott combines his love of writing and his dog, which makes the books more interesting to read. Parrot is a successful writer, and he and his loyal friend Luffy work together to make murder stories that keep readers interested all the way through. The depth and emotion that stories about cherished pets, like Luffy, bring to the story drew me in. Author Parrott's cozy hobby mysteries are infused with his obvious love for writing, making for an interesting read that fans will love. I recommend this book to all fans of cozies, especially murder, pets, dogs, and any mystery. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I was expecting a lightweight story, but this well written story is great! A lot of action, and a crime to solve. And let me not forget Ruff, the police school dropout. Turns out he was he was pretty slick.
